Birds of Prey #1Story By: BatmanHeroes: Batman, Red Robin, Black Canary, Oracle, Lady Blackhawk, Huntress, Batwoman Villains: Joker, Two-Face Plot: When public officials go missing Gotham city turns to Batman for help, but what happens when the master detective is no where to be found? Black Canary creates a team specialized in assault, infiltration, and mystery as she sets out to uncover a plot to destroy Gotham City with only the Birds of Prey standing as its last line of defense and only chance for vengeance. (OOC: Rules to posting. After you post you must wait for 2 other players to post before you can post again.) “Good evening Gotham, Jack Ryder here reporting live from City Hall where it’s just now been released that Mayor Garcia has gone missing and has been for the past 4 days. Police aren’t releasing details and have kept this under a pretty tight lid until only moments ago. However strange this may seem it only amps up attention as Commissioner Gordon is also missing…Some suspect it may be connected to the missing Arkham Inmates Harvey Two-Face and The Joker, who have also escaped Arkham Asylum and are currently missing. If you have any information regarding these people…” A television broadcast echoed through the living room of Dinah Lance's apartment. It would be only seconds later that her cell phone would receive a text message. "Check your Email. - B." Upon checking her Email, Dinah would find a brief message encoded for her to secure a download. Promptly using her password a computer system known as "Oracle" would begin downloading a file onto her computer. A video would begin playing soon after. Batman's deep tone spoke calmly. "If you're getting this file then it means something went wrong. This protocol is intended as a backup plan should I fail in my mission. Canary, I believe whoever is behind the abductions intends to detonate an explosive chemical bomb, attached to this file is a personnel list of suitable partners who can help you solve this case. Don't under estimate whoever is behind this, search down every lead and don't let anything slip by, there is more to this than just the Mayor's and Gordon's abductions. if I don't respond back in time to stop this message then something went wrong and I can't save them or Gotham. Oracle can give you access to the Batcomputer database for anything you may need. Don't waste your time trying to find me, save Gotham from that bomb. Good luck, Canary." The message would end leaving her with a moment to think about the situation and review the following information. Detective File summary - Opened on 26-9-13 Missing Person, Anthony Garcia. Dinah sat down her plate on her TV tray and got ready to watch the News. Unlike most people who were settling down after a long day to catch up on what was going on in the world and to relax, the blonde was just getting ready for her real day. A light sandwich and getting an update on what her night work was going to entail. Her eyebrows raised as she heard about the missing mayor. Why hadn't she heard about this? She had contacts in City Hall, who kept her up to date on things like this... She frowned more as she heard the reporter jumping to conclusions. This could be the work of the Joker and Two-face. They were capable. But the Joker to remain quiet about all of this for so long? she doubted it. Perhaps the criminals had been kidnapped as well... stranger things had happened. Dinah knew that Batman had been looking into the missing inmates, perhaps she should give him a call and ask how things were going.
Dinah's cell phone went off with a rather loud trumpet fall. The blonde jumped at the sudden sound and smirked, to speak of the Devil. She picked up the phone and saw her note from Batman. Okay... enigmatic... of course it was. She checked her e-mail...
Dinah just sat there for a moment, in silence. Her hands balled up into fists. She let out the breath she was holding slowly. Things had gone wrong. Things had gone very wrong. The blonde felt the need to make things right. If only she had been there... if only she had known! But no... that kind of thinking wasn't going to save Gotham or Bruce. Batman had left her out of his plans as a contingency and now it was time to act. Canary took out a notepad and started jotting down notes from Batman's files that he sent her. His notes were brief, he did most of his work in his head. But it gave her all the key points he had collected. Apparently Mayor Garcia took several 'contributions' from some very big names in Gotham; Falcone's criminal element, and she had heard some dark whispers about Shreck the business tycoon. The blonde brought up the encoding program she had on her computer and sent a message to Oracle, sending her a list of just the facts from Batman's notes. "Oracle, I got the following message from Batman. There is a chemical bomb that is being built and we don't have much time. I'm putting a team together and I need your help. I need some details on Shreck, Hannigan, and Queen; could you do some digging and see what you can come up with? I think we need to do some field investigation and interrogating, so I want to know what we are getting into. I am setting my communicator to reserve frequency 3, please get back to me as soon as you can."
Dinah went downstairs through her closed flower-shop and into her back room. She started to peel off her tank top as she grabbed her bustier and started to tug it on. She made a call. "Hey Helena, suit up. There's a large chemical bomb in the making and it appears to be linked to some missing persons. Including the mayor and Gordan. If you want to help out meet me on the top of Saint Mark's, the church East of City Hall. I'll be on reserve frequency 3 if you have questions. Sorry, more calls. Bye." It was a rushed call, but she had another call to make and not a lot of time..
Canary rolled her fishnets up her legs as she called another blonde. "Hey Fly Girl! You said you wanted to get back into saving the day right? Well, I could use your charm and tactics. Meet me on the top of Saint Mark's, the church East of City Hall and I will tell you more about it. And bring a change of clothes, business professional. Set your earpiece I gave you to reserve frequency 3 if you want to chat. I'll see you there." Black Canary ended the call, slipping on her boots.
Black Canary slipped onto her bike and with a start, revved her engine. She was off! Flying down the alleys of Gotham, blonde hair ruffling in the wind behind her. She was getting a team together, her team. They were going to strike this threat to Gotham. And it wasn't going to be big or flashy like how the league handled things with their monsters and aliens. This wasn't an obvious monster about to destroy the city. It was an invasion of vermin that were about to clog the city with fear and bombs. It needed a covert team; swift, silent, and cunning. Like birds swooping in on their prey. Her cycle roared as she made her way to the church-top, it was time to save Gotham.

Zinda was in a bar - big surprise. It had been owned by Duke, one of her buddies from the Blackhawks, had been the original owner. His grandson, Jason, ran it now. When Zinda first walked in the welcome had been half seeing a ghost and half warm welcome, the young man falling over himself to apologise, then show her the photo that hung by the bar.
Currently she was at the bar, picking at a dinner sized salad and a plate of fries, working her way through a schooner of beer, idly watching the news. "Hey, Jay, turn it up, will ya," she said with a nod of her chin towards the television set suspended over the bar rail.
The well coiffed anchor relayed the story about the mayor and the police commissioner and she finished her meal, draining the rest of her beer leaving only the white foam clinging to the inside of the glass. Her blonde brows drew together as she listened to the words spoken, wondering why Dinah's buddy Batman wasn't doing his thing and saving the day. She shrugged and finished her meal.
She wouldn't get Dinah's message until she stepped out to have a smoke. Checking her messages the blonde woman smirked; of course she wanted back in the saddle. She finished her smoke, paid off her tab and then called a cab to take her home.
A go bag with her Blackhawk uniform, cap and revolver included, sat waiting in the front hall closet. She walked and changed, leaving a trail of clothes and boots from the door to the bedroom where she took her only suit out and put it in the bag.
All set and ready to roll, Zinda pulled her cap low over her blue eyes, muttering, "Fucking eh," as she fired up her Harley hardtail and aimed it towards the church.

The Gotham City Police Department dispatch droned on the desk to the right of her main hardware display, he familiar tones of Cindy Redd's clear words detailing units toward a homicide over on West Ave. But this scanner was quieter and calmer than the on she had with more excited voices calling out for any one with an ear to a radio where the Commissioner might be. Oracle had known just the moment when the Lieutenant had called out Gordon's name the third time that something had gone drastically amiss. James Gordon was a dedicated man with his entire life wrapped up on the department, he'd barely missed a day of work, or been late to a scene, or missed a clue, and he certainly didn't ignore his radio. Her long fingers had turned up the volume then, listening with the rest of the department starting to get a bad feeling as his name was repeated...and the crackle of radio static returned still. As his daughter, she was mortified and felt the flutter of panic in her heart, but as Oracle, she had rolled herself in the steel chair that bound her to her main frame and began working.
She traced the entire shift that night and where he had been as well as with whom. As that search spilled results, she drew her attention to the security cameras at Arkham where Harvey Two-Face and The Joker had escaped not too long before. But her father hadn't been gone missing there, he'd been on his way in the unit 417 car with the Captain to investigate. The news went on behind her quietly, so far behind what she was up to that reporters couldn't hope to fill her in on something new. She knew the moment the Bat Signal was streaming into the sky and how long it went on before she'd asked Batman if he had already been to Arkham...to no reply. Well, that wasn't all that new, the man did things on his own time and if he wasnt feeling chatty, which was common, she would t hear from him. Still, the pit of her stomach seemed to be forming rocks to weigh her heavily down. Something about tonight just wasn't sitting well with her, but shed be damned if she was t going to get to the bottom of it.
As she watched the surveillance footage of the escaped inmates last minutes at Arkham, her blue eyes fixed intently on the figures dressed in orange as hey fought guards off. She watched The Joker's insidious grin, the way he half-waltzed with a dead body of one guard toward an exit as the locked bulletproof doors kept the rest at bay. Her spine tingled from the nape of her neck and Dow. But it faded near the base of her lumbar where feeling no longer occurred, the hollowness of a darker memory holding almost the phantom sensation of her legs tucked under the desk. She watched the hollow madness of The Joker's eyes like she was remembering the night so log ago just after Christmas.
BLEEP!
Display screen 3 to her right and above another monitor bleeped again and opened up a message for her viewing. Oracle snapped her gaze from the sick madman and his dance to read the message. Black Canary had received word from Batman, and the word wasn't good. The rocks in the pit of her stomach sharpened I to glass and created a painful twinge. She quickly switched her earpiece to the proper frequency as Black Canary had instructed, part if her feeling disheartened that Batman's voice wasn't going to be responding anytime soon, and she greeted the blond.
"Canary, I've received your files and I'm looking up your requests now, I'll have the information out to you soon." Her red curls slipped her her shoulder to hang at her chest as she thrummed her fingers across the keys to look up the men The Gotham City Police Department dispatch droned on the desk to the right of her main hardware display, he familiar tones of Cindy Redd's clear words detailing units toward a homicide over on West Ave. But this scanner was quieter and calmer than the on she had with more excited voices calling out for any one with an ear to a radio where the Commissioner might be. Elapsed Time: 55-47 hours remaining (Source: Batcomputer)
To Oracle Oracle's work would allow her to dig up the following information.
1. The Arkham video footage were tampered, the same footage was used over 3 years ago and upon information from the Crime scene investigation notes that Batman had made, key elements weren't present as far as she could tell from the cameras.
2. Max Shreck (Age: 49) was building transformers and renewable energy equipment all across Gotham, approved and contracted by the Mayor with a $5 million investment agreement. Max had a primary Office in Downtown Gotham where a giant Felix the Cat-head sat with a slogan "Shreck" resided at the top. Searching on the internet, Oracle would find that Shreck was under investigation for ethical violations, additionally in the past 5 years, 15 of their employee's have been reported missing world wide. Max Shreck is native to Gotham and has a home North West section of Gotham in the suburbs with a mansion that is guarded by private security. He has 1 son, Chip Shreck (28) who owns a small subsidiary of Shreck Corp. Shreck Corp specializes in advanced technology and focuses primarily on Government contracts or business to business contracts with a few products for consumers. According to the city files, Queen's Taste and Shreck are facing a potential threat of increased tax on corporation property unless an appeal and exempt is sent to the mayor for approval. (Additional notes from the Batcomputer) Shreck Corp has military grade contracts, and potentially connected to the Penguin as a source for Military grade equipment.
3. Roland Hannigan (Age: 52) is a judge for Gotham City's court and also a registered member of the same political party as Garcia. Additional notes from the news would indicate that Hannigan was a likely political candidate for Mayor or running mate with Garcia for Governor of the state. There was much political speculation with Hannigan, but without any real verbal recordings or documents Oracle had nothing further to discover from this lead. He lived in West Gotham outside the city in a mansion, three cars registered to his name. 1 Wife; Jasmine Hannigan(45) who was a Nurse, 1 child; Noah Hannigan(26), who is a lawyer.
4. Andina Queen (Age: 30) is an Entrepreneur with two sisters, all three living in Gotham and run a manufacturing plant known as Queen's Taste; a chemical, R&D, and technology conglomerate, their most notable products were Queen's honey. Andina was a college graduate from Gotham U and studied several subjects overseas in Europe, according to her biography on Queen's Taste's website. She had degrees in Marketing and Business, along with studies in psychology. Andina's sister and Co-owner Beatrix (26) is also a graduate in accounting and chemistry from San Francisco. Andina's other sister and Co-owner Cana (25) graduated with a degree in bio-medical engineering. Queen have one primary headquarters in downtown Gotham and 1 manufacturing plant in East Downtown Gotham. According to the city files, Queen's Taste and Shreck are facing a potential threat of increased tax on corporation property unless an appeal and exempt is sent to the mayor for approval.
Additionally Oracle would receive a message from Alfred. "Forgive the intrusion Ms. Gordon, but-umm...Master Bruce and Master Drake aren't responding to their phone calls...I fear they may be stuck in traffic, but knowing this city and their habits, I fear something rather troublesome has happened. I happened upon their GPS signals before they suddenly went dead. If you could, ask some of your associates in law enforcement to investigate. " Alfred's words were subtle and hinting to vigilantism rather than police force, but with Tim and Bruce off the table, it left very few capable.

The Black Canary's fishnetted leg came out as her bike slowed down in the alley beside Saint Mark's Church. The church was a beautiful building obviously heavily influenced by Notre Dame, with its two large towers, the large round ornate glass window between the two, and all the ornate stonework about it; gargoyles on every corner glowering down at the city street blow. The old stone church was sandwiched between City Hall and an old business building. Being an older part of town the church was nearly rubbing up against City hall and the alley on the other side was narrow. Canary walked the shiny purple bike behind dumpster and proceeded to the fire escape on the old business building next to it.She deftly climbed the fire escape and then jumped onto the church's roof. The blonde's boots tapped across the rooftop to the tower that was beside City Hall. This is why she picked Saint Marks, it was in a central location, the building made it's own blind spots, so those up here couldn't be seen from below, and from standing behind the gargoyle on this corner you could look directly into mayor's corner office.
Black Canary leaned against the gargoyle as she waited for the others two show up. She smiled as she heard the red-head's voice and tapped her ear-piece. "Thank you Oracle, I appreciate it." She was glad that Oracle was willing to help out, the woman was a wiz with information and an elite hacker. Half the time, Dinah felt lucky she could figure out her e-mail and her encoding programs. She couldn't imagine any of this would have been easy the red-head; her father and mentor had both been captured and were missing and the mad clown responsible for a lot of the difficulty she faced was involved in this somehow. After a long pause she touched her earpiece and spoke softly. "We'll find them." Even though their focus was on the bomb, she was determined to find the others in the process, and to rescue them once the threat was taken out.
Canary slid her little notebook out of where she had tucked it into her costume and looked at her notes. She didn't know all the players with these bank accounts, but it looked like several were trying to gain the good mayor's favor. She could see that with Shreck and Falcone; treats for passing things in their favor for their businesses. She looked at the names of the two females, they were the only ones received money from the mayor. She could see his wife getting some of it, but this Andina Queen, why did the name sound familiar? She got a lot of money and it was the sum of Hannigan's and Shreck's... a mistress? a blackmailer? hrm... she tapped the pad for a moment, thinking.
She was shaken out of her thoughts as she heard footsteps on the roof, her body tensed up naturally, ready to spring into action. Her fighting reflexes, ready. She remained leaning against the gargoyle waiting to see which of her guests would be joining her first.

Making no effort to hide her presence, in effect blending in more because of it, Zinda zipped through traffic. The Harley was flashy and so was her outfit, but because Zinda rode with confidence, smiling and even winking at pedestrians as she passed them by, no one really paid much mind to her. Most thought she was a promotion girl, or part of a stunt; just another hired beauty paid to get attention, one of hundreds in Gotham tonight.
Her bike came to a stop two blocks from the Church, and this is where Zinda put her stealth into practice. Hiding in plain sight was one thing and one set of skills, sticking to the shadows and hiding out of sight were entirely different skill sets, but she possessed them too.
The blonde was beautiful, and often had been assumed vapid or empty headed based solely on her looks, indeed she even capitalised on this assumption from time to time, but the midwestern WWII vet was anything but stupid. She knew the area, and for that reason she had prepared a little. She didn't like the idea of leaving her baby, indeed Chuck had owned a bike like this one and it had sentimental value, but she had too. It was simply too loud to bring any closer. Unzipping a pocket on her jacket she pulled out a Master pad lock and put it in the brake rotor of the rear wheel, making it impossible to turn the wheel. She also took the spark plug out and tucked it into her breast pocket. She had pushed the bike itself into a corner created by a dumpster and the building wall, loose bags of trash piled around and atop to hide its shape.
It wasn't the best, but it was the best she could do.
With all that done, she climbed up on the dumpster, gripped the fire escape ladder and began her assent. The building she was scaling via the fire escape was not the church, but rather a six story apartment block that resembled a Lego block building with little differentiating it from others in the area save the graffiti which designated which "gang" controlled and "protected" each building. Zinda mulled over what had changed in mobsters since the days of the gentleman gangster, when they were dapper and classy. Seems today they can't be bothered to even buy clothes that fit. How was one to be respect with their arse hanging out of their trousers? She thought.
Upon reaching the top, Zinda dusted herself off and stretched. The buildings were close enough together that she could jump so long as she had a good run at it. The first one went smoothly, her shoulder tucking and the roll using most of the momentum from the jump. The second one was trickier, she had a small bulkhead to deal with. She made the landing and this time straightened her cap and dusted her shoulders and back off.
In the distance she could hear Dinah's voice calling a welcome. "Hey there, little birdie," she said, standing with her hands on her hips. "Nice tights," she winked. Zinda was struck by an odd sense of nostalgia; Dinah was the spitting image of her mother, even down to the confident smirk on her lips. "So, Whatcha got for me? It isn't another night cutting flowers is it?" she teased, a reference to Valentine's night when Zinda helped the Dinah's with their business.

Barbara could hear the smile in Black Canary's voice, the warmth in her tone despite the seriousness of the situation and it melted her heart. It was a pleasant change in comparison to the cold grunt of a response she normally received on the comm. Having another woman's touch to Gotham and one that wasn't belonging to an Arkham inmate was pleasant. Batman and the boys had Gotham under their wing, as did Batwoman, but what Black Canary was bringing was a lot of cunning force with direction and precision. They weren't Batman, but they certainly aimed to get the job done in their own way. Only time could tell if it would be enough...
Oracle slid her fingertips gently to her comm, "I know we will." It was all she could say, hope and determination driving her despite the wrenching pain in her heart. Her father was out there, missing. And the man who she normally trusted to ensure his safety was also missing. That fact began to settle just as the dark pain swirled in her blue eyes then refocused into suspicion at her monitor.
She played back the Arkham footage and narrowed her gaze before searching the past files logged away on the Batcomputer for escaped inmate footage. Sure enough, the two next to one another were one in the same, footage reused in the recent escape. This wasnt the footage of the recent escape at all, it had been switched. So where was the real footage? Who had replaced it? The Joker never cared for covering his tracks this way, he wanted Batman to find him and their epic dual to take place yet again, so why go through this trouble?
An incoming message alerted and as she searched the Arkham computer files to find who all had access, she listened. Alfred, his tone somewhat alarmed despite the controlled tones in his formal manner. It was evident that he disliked already that Bruce did what he did, but having gone missing was even more troubling and the man was struggling with the guilt he must feel looking after him. Her heart broke for Alfred but it only made her that much more determined as she scanned the files before her.
She replied back with a somber response, "I'm looking into it as we speak, Alfred. And my friends are on the case. Keep the lights on, we'll get them home." The last part made her voice almost waver as she imagined the heat of the fire in the living area keeping an empty home warm for a man who barely spent time there.
She turned on her frequency to Black Canary once more and her tone was clipped with a determined focus. The emotions of her missing father and mentor were stashed away along with the worry next to Alfred's. "Canary, I'm uploading you a set of files on each person you requested, including updated information as to dates and times. On top of that, give a look at the Arkham footage, it's a recycled piece from a previous escape. I don't find the Joker to be behind the idea of doing such, it's not typically his style. I'm searching now for when the files have been disrupted and the footage tampered with."

It was another day, another term paper that she was procrastinating on.
Helena lay half way on her kitchen table, slumped over in her chair as she tapped the end of her pen against a school book in a slow rhythm. Beyond the black ink she was watching the discovery channel idly as she struggled to concentrate at the task at hand. Whatever had possessed her to do a double major was beyond her…perhaps it was of some old ideal of wanting to make her very deceased father proud. Heaving a sigh the young woman turned her bored blue eyes downwards to the mostly blank sheet of paper she was half using as a pillow and slowly pushed herself up to sitting straight in the chair. “Okay, focus…what would you do it-” The words were cut off as she cut her eyes to her cell phone then squinted at it. It was rare that she got a call, if Karen wanted to say something she usually texted or showed up. Reaching out she looked at the ID then tipped her head to the side as “Annoying Bird” was listed. “Interesting.”
Standing up from the table she let it go to voicemail and snapped her notebook shut. If Dinah was calling her, it meant there was business, if there was business well that meant that homework could wait. It was just too damn bad she couldn’t use the excuse of saving Gotham for her professor the next day.
Dressing was standard and getting to the meeting location was no trouble for the Huntress. The trip went fast, and she listened silently on the channel that Dinah had given her to the conversation between the former Batgirl and the songbird and had chosen to say nothing. She hadn’t been paying attention to the news, but the fact that Dinah had said that Gordon was missing was a surprise and for a moment, she felt for Oracle then pushed those feelings aside. A chemical bomb was bigger fish over a few missing persons…but who were the others?
Grappling gun was the fastest way to travel and as it brought her up over the side of a gargoyle, Huntress landing in a crouch to ease the impact on her knees and looked at the two blondes. Dinah was easily recognized but the second in the uniform was new. A frown tugged lightly at her lips as she stood slowly and she looked between the two ladies. “What, was the information a trick and you developed some weird sleep over girls night scheme?” It was aimed at Canary as she strode forwards, keeping her cape around her as she turned blue eyes to Zinda. “Had a sister and decided to bring her in or something?” What was she wearing?

To Oracle
Black Canary is in the field and cannot access the sent files. Oracle has to walk Black Canary through what information she has uncovered, otherwise Oracle's purpose is completely pointless.
Oracle would be correct that the Joker wouldn't *likely* doctor a video tape of his escape, but Two Face or Penguin could. Launching a chemical bomb in Gotham could also be motive enough for the Joker to doctor a tape, but why would he? The Joker would typically place himself as the distraction while minions behind the curtain prepare for the grand event. Oracle would be able to gather the pieces were adding up; if she were to walk through the evidence piece by piece, perhaps she would find something, a lead to give Black Canary. Oracle would find there are plenty of leads that could be followed and that through a process of elimination and deduction they could narrow their search.
(OOC note:)
This is your opportunity to embrace being Oracle, problem solving the meaning of this information, hacking into websites to obtain new information, deciphering the current information you have in front of you. Bouncing information and ideas off other characters can contribute significantly into what direction the investigation will go. The other players are knowledgeable, but their character's are currently clueless as to what is going on. Slow down with pacing and give them a section of knowledge and move on with your posts addressing their concerns and feedback.
I'm here to guide you as to what information you will discover. The team will interact and react based on what Oracle tells them inversely Oracle will gain new ideas from the feedback the team gives her.

Dinah smiled as she heard the confident confirmation from Oracle in her ear. She went back to looking over her notes, and glanced up to window of the mayor's office nearby. Just what was he thinking with getting into so many deals with some dangerous and influential people? She had a feeling that the mayor had gotten in over his head. She was a little surprised with the speed of the red-head's investigations, when she heard her voice in her ear. "Thanks Oracle, and I will have to look at that surveillance video when I get a chance. It looks like someone went through a lot of work two free a couple of dangerous criminals. I'm just surprised we haven't heard from either of them yet..." She paused as she heard more footsteps and saw Zinda walk towards her, she waved to her and motioned for her to come over near the gargoyle. "Hang on Oracle, I have company. I'm going to leave my mic set to 'on', I want you to hear this." she taps her earpieace to change the setting to continuous pickup.
Black Canary smirked as she heard the other blonde's voice. "Hey Fly girl, I'm glad you could join." she smirks at Zinda's tease, remembering the time her mother and Zinda helped at the shop during the craziness that is Valentine's day, it turned into a night of beer with a side of war stories. "No, cutting roses tonight. Although it looks like a different thorny issue. I'll tell you about it as soon as..." she was interrupted as she heard Helena land on the church's rooftop.
She smirks as Helena strode toward them, hearing her joke about a sleepover. "No, not tonight. Although... you left your fuzzy bunny slippers at my place last time." she grinned teasing back. She smiled as Helena met Zinda. "This is Lady Blackhawk, she's a friend of my family and one of the best pilots and tacticians I know. Blackhawk, this is Huntress. A good friend and fighter." she gestured to her earpiece. "And listening in on our conversation is Oracle. An expert in intel gathering and quite a detective in her own right."
Black Canary paused looking between the two women after giving introductions. "I contacted all of you because of the safety of Gotham. As you all know there has been several cases of disappearances. So far it is Mayor Garcia, Commissioner Gordon, Joker, Two-face, and... Batman." She paused for a moment and continued. "Batman was looking into the disappearances and had gotten several leads. He had investigated the Joker's hideout and had discovered the plans for massive bomb, but none of the materials for it. He has estimated that there is about 2 days before the bomb could be completed and put Gotham City at risk. For that reason he put together a contingency plan, us. I know 2 days isn't a lot of time. But if we all work together, we should have enough time to swoop in, figure out who is behind all this and take out them or the bomb. Once the city is safe, I'm hoping we will be able to rescue the victims as well." she paused looking at the women, and listened to her earpiece, waiting to see if any of the ladies had a reply.
She glanced at her notepad and continued. "Batman sent me his files and although they don't mention what he was looking into before his disappearance, he lists several money transfers to and from the mayor, all people who have vested interest in having political favors and wanting to kidnap him. I think these individuals will be a good place to start following leads and getting answers. Some places will need stealth and looking for information, others we will need to go undercover, and for some we may need to send in a couple of us to watch the others back. I have already given the list to Oracle and she already has some locations and information on each."
Dinah looked beyond the ladies over the dangerous jungle of buildings that made up Gotham City. "Oracle? Would you mind giving us a brief summary of your investigation into the people who were involved with the mayor and any updates to get us all up to speed?"

Sister? Not quite. Zinda shared her blonde hair and blue eyes with Dinah, but unlike the bottle blonde, she came by it naturally. Besides, given her actual age and her closeness with the senior Black Canary, Zinda was more like an aunt.
"Oh, what? Afraid to get drunk under the table by two senior citizens?" she winked at Dinah, still teasing about that night. She had left early for a date, and her mom and Zin would continue to suggest that there really was no date, but she was simply afraid of being out drank by her mother and her mom's friend.
Smart ass barbs aside, Blackhawk stuffed her hands in the high pockets of her jacket as Dinah began to list the missing people; as if the Mayor and the Commissioner weren't bad enough, Batman was missing too? She, of course, had no idea that he had a habit of disappearing from time to time, so it seemed more worrisome to Blake than it might to Canary or Huntress.
"You say two days isn't much time, but I've organized search and rescue ops in less than that," she said, speaking with confidence, remembering when she saved the Blackhawks from Killer Shark and earned her wings, and her spot on the team. "We just need to know where they're being kept and by who; guessin' the detective didn't get that far in his case yet?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
Zinda wasn't a detective; she was a fighter, a pilot and a tactician, she could plan and carry out an attack and an infiltration, but she had a hard time figuring out who had the last piece of toast (hint: she lives alone). What she could deduce was that with a name like "Huntress" this dark haired girl with the tummy window might be able to provide the missing information, and would be a good agent for infiltration.
She also might have daddy issues, Zinda thought to herself, basing the comment solely on the overly exposed manner of her clothing. Zinda had a pretty "revealing" costume by 1940's standards, but it was designed with purpose, based off the Majorette's dresses used by the women who entertained the troops during the war. It was a useful distraction technique; in the silence waiting for the Oracle to get back to Dinah, she let her mind mull over that thought but not too long. As she said: Zinda was no detective.

Oracle listened carefully to the conversation coming through the mic's feed from Black Canary as she continued her work. She found herself smiling slightly listening to the ladies hurl teases at one another, drawing them into an interesting mix. Each had their own unique talents that they brought tithe table as well as their personality and how they approached situations.
As they chatted and Dinah caught them up to speed, Oracle was taking a look again through the files pulled up. She made a note in connection from the honey residue found in the cells of the escaped convicts as well as the shoe polish. Her long fingers thrummed away on the keys toward the monitor displaying the GCPD database. If it was possible, she wanted to search through her father's computer in the squad car he'd been abducted from. Possibly, he'd been on a few leads himself and perhaps gotten in the way of someone's plans. As that search began, she drew her attention to a staff list of security guards at the prison, hoping to find a lead as to why the shoe polish might be significant. Her eyes scanned through the account numbers again that had exchanged money to and fro, noting the dates of such as well with a frown deep set in thought.
Dinah's voice cut through her scowl and she wheeled back toward her notes, blue eyes flicking over her screens. "Lovely to hear you're all getting along so nicely," she teased before setting into her work. "So we have several places to hit and possible leads to pick up in a lot of directions as Black Canary has said, when it comes to the bank accounts exchanging of money, I'm scanning the banks to see if anyone was caught on camera, paper trail or what have you. Batman's notes indicate traces of shoe polish residue belonging most likely to one of the staff guards men, I'm looking into the names currently. But there are also traces of honey, which at a glance might seem unimportant as Arkham does in daft have a Mess Hall. But honey is also something that Queen's Taste has made and with Andina Queen on the list of suspects and her name in the draw for money tossed between accounts, I feel that's more of a lead than a coincidence. While the footage from the 'escape'" and she used that word carefully. "Was tampered with, it makes me wonder why someone lent them a hand. They aren't typically the kind you'd help out because you like being neighborly. But the way this is running they might just be someone's smoke screen to keep Batman running while the bomb is finished. The disappearances of them so far might point to people who sniffed a rat and needed to be pulled off the map in order for the scheme to continue." She took a moment to silence her trail of thoughts as they spun with more possibilities and added, "Whoever is out there making people dissappear, they've got Batman and Robin, watching each others backs is a firm concern here, no matter what training you have. We're the Calvary, ladies, and the enemy seems pretty eager to get this bomb off the ground." Her voice had lowered, her tone pulling for them to be careful, not that they weren't, he'll, they could all look after themselves with no problems. But sometimes a healthy reminder of the real danger they were in might just be the honorable me took needed, it might have even saved some of their friends, or a Bat.
Barbara shook off that thought and went on, "I'd like a sample of this honey, I want to see if its connected to Queen's Taste, as well as finding a link to the oil residue of shoe polish. While I feel our escapees are probably a diversion in part, they're also not stupid enough to just be marionettes."

The note of fuzzy bunny slippers being left made blue eyes roll as a hand moved up to rest on her hip, jutting the other side of her hip out to the side. “I don’t own bunny slippers.” It was said with a huff as she looked back to Canary then let her eyes trail back to this new woman. Lady Blackhawk. Somehow the name sounded familiar but Huntress brushed it to the side as Canary continued on. Missing people; got it, but the names that continued the list made her posture slowly change. The had that had been resting on her hip slid down slowly, fingers brushing against her compact crossbow as the names of Two-Face and Joker were listed and then her posture changed completely as Batman’s name was listed off. Shoulders stiffened and so did the muscle in her jaw as her teeth clenched together briefly. Cape dropped forward, concealing her shoulders and her eyes turned from annoyed, humored and childish to a completely different creature all together. ‘Missing.’ That one word brought a quick wave of sickened concern and she forced it back and forced herself to take in all of the information. Plans laying out for a bomb, no materials, maybe it was a distraction from something else, maybe it wasn’t, it was hard to tell when it came to the Joker.
“Where’s his information?” She wanted to see it for herself, hear it for herself, no offense to the Canary and her eyes in the sky, so to speak. It was only a moment later that Oracle was speaking. In her own cowl the voice of the former Batgirl came in clearly, though her own communications out remained muted. If Batman sent Canary the information, he no doubt wanted her to take point and Huntress was willing to let her do so, until she heard something that would make her think otherwise and break off from the group to do her own thing. Listening silently, with only the slightest incline of her head to show that she was listening to the same thing Dinah was her lips remained closed as Oracle finished talking. Eyes trailed from the expressions of one blonde to the other with the fishnets and then she took in a breath. “Going to be hard to watch each other’s backs when it seems like we’re going to be scattered to the wind here.” Briefly she looked back towards Blackhawk and a vague curiosity of what the woman could do came to mind. There was no usual joke made after the statement, her blue eyes cold as he brain processed the information. “You’re leading this pack, Canary. Where do you want me?”

Dinah smirked thinking of Zinda's teasing about that Valentine's Eve with her and her mother. There were moments where it seemed like all those years hadn't passed. Although that is what happened to the Blackhawk, her mother and Zinda picked up their friendship like it had never gotten interrupted. And she had never seen her mother drink that much! They obviously could drink more than she could. While spending a night smashed with her mother wasn't high on her list, it wasn't the main reason she left. She wanted to give the two sometime together, without the 'kid' hanging about. And she really did have a 'date' that night; if fighting thugs with a millionaire and having coffee on a rooftop counted as a date. And in her book it was the best kind.
The blonde smirked as the dark haired woman huffed at her crack about the bunny slippers. She might have to buy her a pair for her birthday. Actually, she didn't know when Helena's birthday was...
As she and Oracle spoke she noted how Heleana's body language changed, stealing little glances. The little aggressive tensing of her muscles and the near-reflex to reach for her crossbow when they talked about the missing criminals. But when Batman being missing was brought up, she had never seen Helena become so tense, withdrawn, and serious. It reminded her of someone else who wore a cape...
Dinah smiled as she heard Zinda's confidence, sure that they could stop a bomb plot and rescue people at the same time. Her mother had shared the old articles of how Zinda became Lady Blackhawk and rescued her squadron from Killer Shark. She could see that tactical mind already mulling over what she needed so they could pull this off.
She gave a slight shrug of her shoulders at Blackhawk's question. "I have Batman's case files and it seemed like he had a strong idea on who he thought was behind all this, but he does a lot of his work in his head and his notes are... sparse. All I have are these leads. But it's a good place to start."
She looked between Blackhawk and Huntress, the two of them were obviously sizing each other up. She was wondering how well the two would play nice together, their personalities were very different. And they were both looking at each other's outfits.
Black Canary smirked as she heard Oracle join the teasing. She was glad that she could still do that under the circumstances. She nodded listening to the lines of investigation that the redhead was looking into, sounded like some good places to help narrow down their leads. The blonde's brows rose as she heard that Andina was the Queen of Queen's Taste honey; personally she knew a few Queens, some were better than others. She found it interesting that the mayor would give money to an industry leader, kind of the opposite of giving contributions to gain the mayor's favor. "I agree Oracle, getting a sample of Queen Taste honey, might help us confirm or rule out Queen's involvement in this. If they are a part of these disappearances." The blonde also considered that if needed it might be possible to determine the locations the bees fetch the pollen, by analyzing the honey.
Dinah sighed a little, giving a small smile, as she heard Barb's concern for their new little team. She nodded as she heard Helena's response, her eyes meeting hers. "I agree with Huntress, time is of the essence here, we are going to have to split up and figure out what is truly going on here. But I want everyone to be careful. Keep your comms on, check in with regular updates. Oracle will be keeping track of all of us, so be sure to speak up. If you find something big or more guards or resistance than you expected, let us know, and one of us will come to get your back." she said, looking at the other two women on the rooftop. All of them took risks, it was a natural part of this line of work; she was sure they would all be taking more risks as this mission goes on, but they were a team. Her team.
She looked between Helena and Zinda, as she thought about all their leads and each of their strengths. "Huntress, I would like you to check out Queen's Taste, see what you can find in the corporate offices, work with oracle to see if she can help you identify the chemicals they are using, as well as get a sample of the honey. I imagine they have some security, but probably nothing you can't handle." With Helena's skill at combat and stealth, she was sure she would be the best for seeing what secrets the factory held and get away with some samples.
She turned to Zinda, "You brought the change of clothes right? I would like you to pose as one of the secretaries from Shrek's business offices, who was pulled in to finish up some last minute reports. Oracle might be able to add some records to Shrek's database to make you seem legit. See what kinds of documents you may find." she smirked, remembering some of Zinda's infiltration tales from back in the day.
"As for me, I'm following some leads with the Mayor. I'm going to check his office here, then go to his home. About that time the early morning staff should be coming in and I should be able get in fairly easily." she smiled, thinking about the extra outfits she kept in her costume closet and which maid costume would work the best.
"Oracle?" she said looking out across as she spoke to her earpiece. "Please give everyone all the information you have collected so far on their targets and thanks again for your help."
Her gaze returned to the two other heroines. "If you run into trouble, you can go to my back alley and use my back room." she said, knowing both women had seen it before. It was a great way to lose someone tailing you, and at one point in time it was a bomb shelter, so it was secure. "Otherwise when you finish your task, let us know and you can help one of us or track another lead. I want us to wrap up by daybreak."
She looked at Helena, "In response to your earlier question about Batman's information. I have it, and so does Oracle and she has been adding to it, probably as we speak." she smirks. "I want us to get together and review it all when this night is through. Either at my place or if she is willing at Oracle's location." she didn't add anymore to that, she knew how much Oracle liked her privacy, to be honest she hadn't even seen her yet herself, just that voice in her ear that she spoke with. "So before we scatter, any other questions or concerns?"
