Backstory
At 16, Real Estate Heiress Charise Carnes' family, mother,father, and infant brother were brutally murdered, at 18 the girl dubbed the 'Butcher Brat or the Spoiled Slauhterer' was convicted of the killing and mutilation of her family. Innocent and yet incarcerated in Arkham Asylum she learned what she wanted from Gotham's worst souls and slipped away from reason.
During a breakout at Arkham Asylum during which guards were taken hostage by some of Arkham's worst killers, Charise was left alone in her cell for 48 hours, what was done to or by her is unknown.
Since her appeal, freeing her from Arkham, she has re-inherited her family's wealth and through hard work, even extended it, continuing the redevelopment of Gotham's Inner City slums as part of Gotham's High Society. She has,however, also assumed the identity of 'Knightfall' a brutal vigilante who, with her gang 'The Disgraced', metes out the kind of 'Justice' that would make The Red Hood blanche, in search of vengeance and the purification of her vision of a 'Golden City'.
Description
Appearance: She is part of Gotham's nouveau riche society, though she foregoes some of the more ostentatious and tacky displays of wealth.. appearing more in the style of Gotham's 'Old Money'. As such she is usually imaculately dressed whenever she is seen in public.
As Knightfall, she wears an elaborately decorated, predominantly purple and grey armour bearing the emblem of a cross and axe, with a purple hooded cloak and a elaborately decorated golden mask.
Personality:
In public: she is polite, somewhat anxious and self-effacing, a nervous young woman trying to return to the world from her hellish experiences.
In private, a steely edge to her personality becomes more evident, she is quick to anger, and intolerant of others' inadequacies.
As Knightfall, her neuroses become apparent, she is grandiose, arrogant, single-minded, intolerant, cruel, viscious and almost completely without pity.

His hand slipped into hers, slick and greasy, clammy, limp, fat fingers sliding loosely around her hand like eels. Charise smiled, the experiences, the skills that had been bought at such expense, in pain, the skill of utter falseness of pure deception, her smile was beatific and utterly genuine to anyone who saw her as the fat bankers tentacles slid over her hand much as his eyes slid from her face to her evening gown.
“Mr Weintraub… so glad you could be here. Thank you so much for your contribution, your generosity is so humbling.” It was a tax write-off, the fat, oily, pig wasn’t losing a penny, but the money was valuable, funneled into the fund that was even now rebuilding, reshaping the dock areas, the most rotten and deprived parts of town into glistening glass structures, apartments for his minions and others that could afford them. Not for the lowlifes in the streets, part of the shining new empire. His creatures? They thought it was the shine, the glister, of money. She released his hand as the next creature slimed his way towards her, her delicate hand outstretched. They thought the light was the glittering of money, she smiled again, dipping slightly “Mr. Daggett… I’m so glad you could be here, Thank you so much for you contribution…” the same smile, the same lie, but in her eyes not the glimmer of the money, but the shining city, the New Jerusalem that she would forge, the old Gotham cleansed and the new raised on high. The next gastropod approached.
His hand slipped into hers, slick and slippery, so that she had to hold it tight, slender and limp, it nearly slipped between her fingers like a squid when she severed the final ligaments. The screams had long since stopped, the pleading, the whimpering, the grunts, his breathing was so shallow she was nearly in silence now. Knightfall stood, the smile on her face beatific and true , the city would be cleansed of sin, a message would be sent, yea even unto the pettiest thieves. She raised the knives that had taken so much from her and which now would give her the Golden City, to her eyes and in their glow she saw the promised land.
