#? Anarchy
Story By: Batman, Black Canary, Huntress
Heroes: Batman, Black Canary, Huntress
Villains: Anarky
Plot:
-The setting sun was beginning to fall, rush hour traffic blocked the streets to and from the inner city. Massive groups of people walked down the sidewalks of Gotham attempting to carry on their daily lives. One man wearing a blue business suit, skipped through the river and jumped into an alleyway, trash littered the sides and corners of the building. Dumpsters and trash cans settled along the walls, as the man maneuvered through he opened a pale screen door, pushing through a solid white door that swiftly closed behind him. He approached through a kitchen of the Italian restaurant; a couple of chefs were stirring their food, but paid the man no mind. The dressed man came to a door where he opened it and stepped down a flight of stairs into a basement. The scent of cigars and chattering from mafia leaders took place.- “Merchante, Aquista, Maroni, Falcone, Varonica, Zucco…<c>
The man in blue adjusted his coat as the meeting seemed in progress, scanners began looking over the man, quickly he disarmed himself to lower any caution. Taking a seat, the men continued to speak.- “So, we move the shipment on Thursday morning, we can avoid the cops and the Batman’s little posse.” ‘If you make yourself…more than just a man. If you dedicate yourself to an ideal…You become unstoppable…For ideas are bullet proof…They are incorruptible. Governments, Businesses, Mafia families, communities, unions…at some point fall to corruption. Bed yourself with the devil; do you not expect to spawn a hellhound? Your very soul seeps out purity of the mission upon losing sight of your purpose. Society, men, and women created a system of corruption…poisoning the vanes of their own system with each step “forward” and cause scum like this to fester and grow. <c>
Some of the more…Conservative leadership believes Government to be the giant power overbearing and controlling of society. Freedom from Government is a noble cause, but as always…MAN has corrupted this vision. There is only one power greater than Government, Society, Community, Mob families, Businesses, Unions…The willing power of people who are sick and intolerant of the pigs who fight for Socialism, Conservatism, Fascism, Communism, Capitalism, Dictatorships…all of these systems are inevitable to fail against the willing power of PEOPLE…I imagine someone may wonder who I am…Look no further than the mirror…I am you, fellow. Fight for the strongest, single most important thing in the world…Freedom from bondage. It will be difficult to fight the system you were indoctrinated to accept. But deep within you, you know I am right. And you yearn for your chains to be broken. Follow me and you will see the path to Anarky…’ <c>
-A pop would occur from a cellar door in the back of the room. Bolts locking down caused the group of men to jump to their feet.- “What the hell is that?” “It’s Batman!” “What the fuck?” –Bolts continued, screaming proceeded above inside the kitchen. The chefs roared and hooted as red filled the kitchen, a long cape thrashing about the room. A master chef armed an Uzi 9mm from underneath a table, but in the tornado of red cloth, a crossbow aimed towards the man’s face, a gold bolt with a symbol “{A}” launched towards the man’s face, puncturing him in the mouth while spraying bullets into the tornado of red cloth. The cloth devoured the bullets and continued to the door to the basement. The bolt gun locked down the door with 8 solid bolts that would require nearly 400 pounds of pressure to remove. Mafia soldiers rushed into the kitchen, firing more bullets at the floating storm, it danced weaving red cloth around the room consuming each bullet from their pistols. <c>
-The storm reached out a gold staff with the tip “{A}” at the very end of a gold star. The tip slashed the first man across the cheek and mouth, before stabbing the second soldier in the stomach and rapidly in the chest. The infiltrator was fast and agile, his strikes were remarkable and left no doubt that his victims would die. The staff returned into his storm just before it died revealing a human shaped figure wearing a red gown, trench coat, and robe. The bright red color was obnoxious; clearly you could see this man flee in mid day. Without hesitation the plan continued, grabbing a hold of the stoves he quickly turned on all of the gas. Hissing of fumes releasing into the air powdered the room. A gold mask concealed his face with red paint of a solemn expression. <c>
-He retrieved the crossbow bolt and quickly fled through the back entrance. Shooting a grappling hook to the rooftops, people would see a red storm glide into the setting sun…The stoves clicked and finally blew up setting the restaurant of fire, the mobsters trapped in the basement, struggling to get out. Crowds of people gathered around the burning restaurant calling for help.-
Black Canary: cross town in an old business district, the usual hustle and bustle going about the corner of an aging Flower shop seemed pretty mundane compared to the Italian restraunt that had burned into flames. Nothing would indicate that any had happened as the dark haired propieter worked on another boquet of roses, while her assistant Angie watered the potted plants. Nothing except for a red light that started to blink on what looked to be a voicemail system. The owner's eyes flicked toward the light and finished up the boquet and tucked them under her arm. "Hey Angie, can you handle the store for a bit? It looks like I need to make a delivery." Angie rolled her eyes. "In this traffic? I hope there is no dead line. Yeah, I got this." The dark haired woman made a face. "I hope not." she slipped to the back making like she was taking the rear entrance to the store and instead slipped into the back room, working a secret panel into the real back room. (c)
Black Canary: With practiced speed she took off her wig, letting loose her long blonde hair taking off her casual clothes revealing fishnets underneath her jeans, as she tugged on the her black bustier. She hit the replay button on her police scanner. There was a fire, no an explosion. At an Italian Restraunt. She finished dressing and gasped as she heard the address. That place was known to be under mafia control. Great, sounds like someone wanted to set a personal score. She turned off the radio and hit a button as she hopped onto her gleaming Purple Motorcycle and exited out an opening wall panel. Black Canary took flight. Zooming at breakneck speed down alleys, moving with ease about dumpsters and crates in them. She hit the rushhour traffic and buzzed between the cars amongst honking and angry drivers, many angry at her 'cheating', her jacket ruffling behind her like wings. She grinned, enjoying the thrill of the ride as her golden hair whipped in the wind. (c)
Black Canary: She made some turns going back into alleys finding the restraunt, she stashed her bike behind a dumpster and pulled an earpiece out of the motorcycle's saddle bags, she put it on, smirking. She dashed to the backdoor and found them blown off, burning at wrong angles the kitchen in flames. 'Damn, they must have blown up the kitchen, looks like they used the ovens.' she observed. The flames were too intense so she went to the front. There wasn't even a firetruck here yet, it must have been stuck in the traffic. she pushed through the onlookers and dashed into the building hearing the gathered crowd gasp and call out. She hated getting attention, but there wasn't anything she could do about it. She scanned about for any patrons who had gotten caught in here. "Hello? Is anyone in here?" she called out, starting to coughed from the heat and smoke getting in. she lowered her self a bit as she avoided some burning support beams above her, this place was going to go down in any minute.
-Bruce Wayne stepped into the batcave and reached the armory as Alfred rushed to the batcomputer.- “There have been a call out across the city for any emergency response. None are on site yet, sir.” –Batman emerged from the armory and spoke with a deep whisper.- “I’ll take the express way…” –Alfred watched as Batman walked down a spiral staircase.- “Harold.” –Batman growled out, immediately the silent man approached tilting his head while waiting for Batman to give him a command.- “The express tunnel. I’ll use the rocket car.” –Harold ran off down a dark passage where Batman began to follow. The twisting and curves of the cave.- “Once I’m downtown. I’ll transfer remote access to you. I’ll use a batpod once down there.” –Harold nodded as they proceeded down a massive flight of stairs into a tunnel system where Batman spotted a long car like pod. <C>
The chassis was blue, round, and equipped with a large rocket on the back and front. Batman jumped inside it and grasped the joystick device. The protective lens closed around Batman confining him within the pod. Harold walked behind a protected command room and waited for the signal. Batman activated the thrusters and left the room in a massive heat wave, the thrusters propelled him towards Wayne Tech’s underground bunker at speeds racing up to 250 miles per hour, the rail track guided the pod despite the uneasy feeling of the pod rumbling as though it were ready to race off the railings. The long tunnel was straight allowing the vehicle to pick up speed rapidly.- “ETA, 2 minutes.” –Once half way to Gotham, the thrusters cut out and the vehicle glided on momentum slowly winding down until inside the Bat Bunker. He opened the cockpit and jumped out.- “Harold, it’s yours.” –And then he raced off towards the elevator.- <c>
In a few moments Batman arrived on the scene of the fire, too late to stop, but he witnessed Black Canary racing into the burning building. Batman jumped down into the alleyway where the flames of the kitchen roared towards him. His eyes narrowed at the beast, raging at uncontrollable rates.- ‘Fire….Why would Black Canary rush inside?’ –Batman armed his freeze pistol and aimed it towards the door frame. Squeezing the trigger the pistol released bolts of cryogenic solution that froze and extinguished the flames. Batman growled out of his throat.- “Canary!” –He continued to spray the pistol until it required a reload, promptly ejecting the magazine and holstering it onto his belt. He fired more rounds. He fought back enough of the flames that he could step through and look for Black Canary.- <C>
-The cellar door would pound as men shouted to get out of the room, the scent of burning flesh filled the room as the chef, and two mafia soldiers were dead in the kitchen, roasting from the fire around them. There were at least two civilians unconscious on the floor knocked over from tables thrown by the explosion. Glass and silverware littered the floor and furniture, as flowers and vending machines were damaged and shattered from the flames.-
Black Canary: Canary called out again, her shouts sounding like whispers from the roaring flames. Calling out to any trapped survivors. Then she saw them, a couple patrons laying unconscious pinned under a table, rubble of the restraunt about them, flowers, glass, and broken furniture. she studied the debris as she got closer, it confirmed her thoughts, the kitchen had been the center of the blast. she grabbed the heavy wooden table and flipped it off them. They didn't look good, some burns, probably bad smoke inhiliation, and obviously some broken bones from the table hitting them with such an impact. Getting closer she noticed they were a rather large man and a much smaller woman, she didn't even try to wake them. She lay the woman on top of the man, smirking for a moment wondering if they even knew each other. "All aboard. Let's get this train out of hell." she grabbed the man's legs and started to drag them both out. (c)
Black Canary: She heard a new sound, a sizziling sound and of something high pressure being used. It was coming from the back, where the flames were the worst. The sound stopped and she heard her name by a familiar gruff voice. "Batman?" she called back, the sound of a grunt in her voice as she pulled, avoiding burning furniture as she slid them across the ashy tiled floor. "I got a couple patrons here!" she called back. "Is it clear your way? we are closer to the back than the front!" she coughed horsely, ignoring it, her eyes tearing from the smoke.
-Batman stepped through some smoke.- “The back isn’t clear completely. The front is your best option.” –He fired off a few more shots and froze a chunk of fire capturing its shape within ice. His shots cleared the path for her, when he turned his head.- “There’s others trapped downstairs.”Hurry back, when you can.” –Batman charged the door and growled at it.- “Stand back!” –He kicked the door twice allowing the people on the other side to believe an Axe would chopping through, this would cause the men to back away for sure. Aiming the pistol his gaze would glare at the large bolts on the door.- ‘It’s been bolted shut…Prisoners or a mob hit?’ –The iced door was completely frozen, and to the shock of the mobsters they would see Batman’s fist breaking through the ice and shredding the once wooden door like it was paper.- <c>
-Batman grabbed the first man, who suddenly tried to run away.- “Get out! All of you!” –Batman noticed their faces immediately, the mobsters were fearful of Batman, some seemed happy to remain trapped in the basement than pass by Batman, but the movement of their fearful peers forced them to follow suit. Each racing out of the front door without delay. Batman entered into the basement and looked around for any signs of others trapped, but there was no one. The walls began shuddering and the ceiling collapsed down, giving a key indication that the building was ready to breakdown very soon. Batman dashed up the stairs and raced out of the back entrance to avoid being spotted by civilians and the arriving fire engine.-
Black Canary: Canary smirked as she saw batman step through the smoke, looking more mysterious than usual. "How come we never meet at nice restraunts?" she teased. She nodded as he told her to take the front, she was about to reply when she heard a blast as the ice gun shot off right in front of her clearing a path, she smirked looking back at Batman over her shoulder, tugging on them towards the front, demonstrating some of her strength, they were giving her quite the work out. She gave batman a wave to show she would be right back, and started tugging again. She made it slowly to the door, her chest burning from the smoke and exertion, and set them down a ways on the side walk, some men dashing over to help her with the victims, she thanked them. "Is anyone a doctor or have medic experience?" she asked and a med student came forward, she asked if she could watch over the rescued people for now and to do the best she could. She then dashed back in. (c)
Black Canary: People in the basement? her mind mulled that over, but before she could deduce much she saw some rather familiar faces, leaders of the different crime groups! She guided them to the door. "Out the front! Don't stop!" Some looked scared, of her or the fire she had no idea. she dashed past them to see if anyone else was there when the building started to shudder and groan. "It's coming down!" she ushered them out running after them, pushing them out. If any resisted she was willing to throw them out. She lunged for the door as the building colapased, dust and debris flying about her flames licking at her heels, landing in a not so glorious heap, she coughed hard, she had gotten more smoke than she wanted. She saw the fire engine stop and the fire fighters get to work, one came up to her. "What the hell were you thinking?!" she coughed, "Just getting the last few out..." the firefighter shook his head, his expression half angry, half bewildered. (c)
Black Canary: "You're crazy, but thank you. Why don't you rest? I have some..." she waved him off and dashed toward the alley. She went behind a dumpster. She panted for a moment, but another thought was coming into her head. He had to have made it out, he just had to. she tapped her earpiece "Batman? You hear me? Did you make it?"
Black Canary’s humor would seem lost to Batman as his humor was lost in the sense of immediate danger surrounding them. After the building began to collapse, Batman was separated from Canary, once in the alley way, he fired his grappling hook and flew towards the rooftops, where he noticed something on the edge of the building, normally he would disregard it, but the similarity stood out. A grappling hook puncture mark on the building made Batman stop to analyze it when Black Canary’s words came to him as she ran down the alleyway. A voice would reply to Black Canary.- “…Yes…” –As Batman analyzed the hook shot.- ‘It’s possible that I was here before…I know I have…It can’t be a coincidence.’ –Batman armed his Cryptographic sequencer and scanned the puncture mark and then holstered the device.- “Meet me two blocks south, behind the bus stop…” –Batman’s cape flapped, allowing Black Canary to see it move out of vision if she looked up, indicating his movement.- <c>
-Arriving at the position, it was on the rooftop of a car garage, where Batman had beams from the orange sun shading his black cloth, the sun rapidly sinking as night fall raised up from behind Batman. He waited for her to arrive, upon which he looked at her with his jaw stiffened.- “What information do you have about this fire?”
Black Canary: Black Canary sighed in relief as she heard Batman's voice. Her thoughts going back to all those people who saw her, some must have taken her picture with their phones. She shrugged it off, it couldn't be helped, she couldn't have dragged those people out of the kitchen, she knew her lurking in shadows out of the limelight, was bound to wear out. "Okay meet you there." she walked down the back alley ways until she got to the spot she saw the parking garage and saw the Batman silloutted in the fading light. She couldn't help but smile. She made her way up to the top of it. Canary looked a mess, covered in ash and soot, her outfit a bit singed, her fishnets torn from her leap out, she ached a bit too, especially her lungs. She noticed his body posture and the way his jaw stiffened. She just smirked at him, ignoring what she noticed. "Not much, you know that some of the mafia does own that place. I was surprised to see so many familiar faces. (c)
Black Canary: Unsusual to see so many in such a meeting, something big must be coming. I think we can rule out all of them for the expolsion, far too risky if they were in the basement. I'm thinking it must be someone else. Either someone who knows the crime world well, or was following one of them. Probably one of the last guys there, so they could catch them all at once. Obviously the explosion was in the kitchen, could have been a bomb, but I saw some pieces of the oven embedded in a wall, so most likely a gas explosion." she shrugged as if what she gathered was nothing, smiling. "How about you?"
“A found a mark that resembles a grappling hook mount…There was also a stash of weapons in the basement.” –Batman’s blues eyes scanned over her dirty appearance, Batman’s own filth didn’t seem nearly as bad, but his suit was grayer than it was black.- “It was a mob meeting. And we can count that there is something big going on. Big enough that someone killed three men, and attempted to burn down the rest of the families head men…” –Batman’s attention flicked away from Black Canary and towards the Wayne Tower, the largest building in the city.- “It’s not one of our own…This person is fighting for a cause at the disregard for human life. Collateral damage, no doubt in their mind.” –A click would happen in Batman’s ear, prompting him to speak.- “Go ahead, Ace.” “Sir, news reports are coming in, you may want to hear this…” <C>
-Batman placed his fingers onto his wrist console and tapped away.- “I’m bringing Black Canary into this channel.” “Very good, sir….” Man: “It was like big…red. Long cape like…Superman or something.” Kid: “It’s like Shinobi! Lots of red and ninja like!” Man: “I don’t know what it was, but it was like a Japanese parade waltzing down the alleyway and into the store. Gunshots later, like pow pow! And then boom. The whole place blew up.”
Black Canary: She smiled at Batman hearing how his thoughts mirrored her own. A smudge of ash on her cheek, she nodded. "Yes, I agree. I will have to see if any of them are in the hospital and make a delivery, see what I can gather." she looked at Batman as he faced toward Wayne tower. She frowned hearing about this person and Batman's thoughts on the attacker, someone on one a vendetta not caring about who is hurt along the way. She was a bout to comment when Batman apparently got a call from 'Ace'. she tilted her head to one side as she listened to the news report, surprised the attacker didn't try to be more stealthy. At least it would be drawing more attention than herself. "Doesn't sound like anyoneI know." She started to think about the gunshots, wishing she could have seen the kitchen better. "Batman, did you get to see the walls in the Kitchen? the bullet holes? I wonder if this shinobi thing was well armored or not, or if it was also packing a firearm. (c)
Black Canary: I wonder just what we are going to come up against." she sighed and stretched a bit. "Just another day in gotham." she smirked.
