Mean Seasons (2010)
Story By: Batman and Barb
Heroes: Batman, Batgirl I
Villains: Calendar Girl
Intro music: Neil Sedaka - Calendar Girl
February 13th, 2010…Thomas Eisenboro brutally beaten inside his apartment; hammer to the chest, heart shaped candy littered around the body, tested positive for Oleander poison. March 4th, 2010…Cameron Kilmer was found dead inside his office, St. Patricks day themed match box, placed inside a trash can, his body was burned alive. April 3rd, 2010…New paper reels had flown “4 weeks and still no word from the GCPD on Holiday killer.” “Commissoner Gordon says NO COMMENT” “City Hall silent on Holiday Killer!” “Copy-Cat Calender Man still on the loose!”
On the rooftop of the GCPD, Gordon stood by a broken bat signal, his eyes scanning around the flood light. He would speak quietly to himself. “I know you’re busy…or I hope you are. Dealing with The Penguin and Killer Croc, but I’m stumped on this one…Something I’m missing.”
Batman stood in the dark, across the rooftops looking down at Gotham City’s commissioner. He spoke quietly to himself as though delivering a prayer to anyone watching. Outcast and wanted by the Police, the Dark Knight wasn’t able to see confront the commissioner as he would have in the past. Unknown to anyone, the broken flood light contained a listening device that somehow Commissioner Gordon knew about without actually asking or searching. Batman had examined the case files, although he was pre-occupied in the past few months to directly handle the Calendar Man’s copy-cat, Batman knew the first Calendar Man was safely locked up in Arkham, the police interrogated him with no success to the murders. It was the help of Batgirl that a new concept was discovered.
Calender Man II wasn’t a man at all, the personal nature of the first crime scene followed by the details and delicate handling of the second crime scene. Both pointed for premeditation as well an eye for fashion, both events were meant to send a message to someone, to whom was all Batman could figure. Looking to his left, Batman spoke. “Lets go.” Batman leapt down from the rooftop, opening his wings and allowing that cape to flap open with a thunderous roar as electrical current surged through the memory cloth. He landed behind Commissioner Gordon, closer to the edge of the building in order to keep distance. “Jim.” A deep voice, a soft raspy tone to it in order to disguise his identity.
Batgirl: Flanking the Dark Knight to his left, stood the young, redheaded vigilante herself. Batgirl nodded curtly once, her tech pad firmly clicking into place at her hip before she followed suit, over the ledge and down to land the same behind him. Dick was busy with the Titans and if anyone one of the family could help out best against this strange threat, Barbara was sure it was herself. There were little things left behind in such an artful and talented way that led her to her own decision- the Calendar killer of current wasn't the same as before, nor was he a protege of the first. In fact, she was quite sure, it wasn't even male. Her details and notes she added to time and again on her as they'd done their research, but now, with her own father near by, she tried to stay quieter than normal. Her father was the Commissioner and not a stupid man, he was in fact, a very clever detective, and hearing her voice even slightly disguised come from the redheaded Batgirl didn't take a genius to-
Batgirl: figure out it was his own daughter. Which, she was sure the Batman enjoyed more- her silence. Or as close to it as he would get around her. Instead, she listened intently and hoped her father would provide more information than they had, which wasn't often that the GCPD had something new the Bats didn't. But some times it just took a sentence worded different that clicked things into place. Batgirl pulled out her pad again and busied herself so as to keep her eyes away from the Commission as she listened. -e-
“Reports saw you in Metropolis the other week, you’re not starting something in someone else’s backyard are you?” Batman would almost dismissively respond. “Just making ‘friends’ my way.” Gordon smirked and shook his head. “Right…What do you have on this guy? Two kills, another one and they’ll escalate their status to serial killer. From what we know, it seems the killer has done research. They knew how to get in and out undetected. He uses holiday themed instruments, and has a taste for cruelty.” The last words made Batman narrow his eyes with some thought going through his head. “Cruelty…We’ve looked into it, from what we can tell…He’s a *she* and the victims aren’t at random. Given the care and precision to each crime scene, there’s a level of intimacy to them. It’s also a message to a bigger picture.”
Gordon nodded his head a few times. “So, she’s going to strike again...” “Yes. Without knowing what the connection is yet, there’s only specu--…” Gordon’s radio would beep prompting Jim to look down at his radio on his hip. “Gordon.” “Commish, we got report of an incident at the Warner Brothers studio…A masked woman is taking the production film maker hostage.” Gordon narrowed his eyes and spoke loudly. “Surround the building; I want no one to get in or out.” Gordon’s attention would drift towards Batman, only to find Batman and Batgirl had left. Gliding across the city, Batman would close in towards the rooftop of the studio. “Keep your eyes open. We don’t know what we’re dealing with.” Was all Batman would growl at Batgirl as he rolled across the roof and began running towards the edge to look down. He peered in the surrounding area, it would look like an outdoor pool, cameras setup for filming but, most of the people had cleared out.
He latched his grappling hook onto the roof’s ledge and then repelled down 5 stories to land on the ground. Retracting his grappling line before holstering it, those blue eyes searched the area surrounding him until they saw a double door entrance that he pulled opened to slide inside.
Batgirl: Batgirl landed next to her mentor on the rooftop, rolling to a tumbling halt, the black and yellow cape swaying forward with her red hair before she nodded and broke into a sprint toward the other ledge. Following suit, she grappled to the lower level and rounded to the left of the door, "I'll check for another way in." Her black and yellow would be glimpsed followed by the soft footfalls of her boots before she vanished from his sight. Barbara brought out her pand and linked into the security system of Warner Brothers. After a moment of hacking, she commed to Batman, "I'm in their system, uploading their feed now. I can't get a good look at how many are with her, but the rest of the building has been evacuated, the event is secluded to the room in the East." She directed, rounding corners and finding a seperate route as she calculated how much time they had before the GCPD tried to close in further. She brought up the GCPD database to find out how many hostages were reported missing.
Batgirl: If the information was released and documented, she'd repeat it to Batman and continue searching for a way to finding a video feed to get a look at things before they arrived. -e-
Calendar Girl stood with men dressed in black cat burglar outfits, their ski masks concealing their faces. One of them secured a second hostage by grabbing a thin woman by the arm, the other hostage was a man held by Calendar Girl’s grip. She had a cold and calculating tone, yet it held a sultry flavor that was alluring to some extent. The mysterious woman with a pale masked covering her face; it revealed only black slits and black lips. A simple gunshot to the head would’ve killed her, and based upon her outfit of a yellow outfit, she appeared to sport some armor padding underneath. The man would call out “Please! Let us go! I’ll give you whatever you want!” She would attach a reel to the man’s belt and upon command the reel would snap backwards pulling the man towards the sky, hanging him above the studio, 30 feet into the air. The two other muscle men were sporting machine guns and keeping a group of ten hostages down on the ground.
The Dark Knight observed the scene and whispered quietly. “Can you get to the crane and the other hostage? She’s planning on dropping that man from the crane.” The crane’s reel was far too think to break with a batarang, maybe a powerful enough explosive…but the explosion could injure the hostage badly or the thick cable landing on him could. The Dark Knight’s eyes were placed on the two aiming machine guns a group of ten people. A man on the radio spoke to Calendar Girl’s headset. “I’m in position…and we got cops surrounding the place. No SWATs or tactical units yet. Just let me know when and the escape will be ready.” The swooshing of metal through air would echo as three batarangs struck the two men and their machine guns. The brief distraction forced their guns to the ground and for Batman to charge out of the shadows, shoulder tackling one before throwing him over the shoulder onto the ground.
Spinning Batman ducked underneath the second terrorist’s left hook allowing Batman to punch him in the stomach landing a direct hit into the terrorist’s Kevlar vest underneath his outfit. The terrorist grabbed Batman by the ears and began attempting to crush Batman’s titanium helmet. Gritting his teeth in anger the terrorist would feel the Dark Knight’s hands slide between his arms and grab hold of his shoulders. The caped Crusader pulled backwards and rolled onto his back in order to ju jitsu throw the thug across the room and into a fake bedroom set smashing the wood framed wall. The terrorist by calendar girl held his gun at his hostage’s head but, didn’t shoot just yet…maybe their thugs could stop Batman.
Batgirl: Batgirl nodded as her mentor gave her a direction, her green eyes already focused on the crane hoisting the man far above the studio. As she plotted her move, Batgirl found the catwalk high above the action and scaled across it quickly, making her way toward the hostage hanging over the scene. The catwalk was littered with film lights and wiring, all sorts of places and things she could make use of, like a jungle gym. The acrobat hopped, clung to a bar and swung herself forward to a higher level of catwalk, nearer to the hostage. Her tech picked up the radio signal from Calendar Girl and her men, softly, between trained breaths, she repeated it back to Batman. "They have their exit plan ready, men out side waiting for her order. They're keeping an eye on the police as well." She landed gracefully on a metal landing and dashed back into a sprint. Her pace quicked, the strip ahead of her aiming her staight for the hostage who hung just a few feet below and out of reach. Batgirl's boots -
Batgirl: pushed off the edge and kicked her out into the air, her cape spreading out to catch the air and allow her slight drift as she soared down and toward the man. Pulling the thicker blade from its sheath at her hip, she swipped at the cable and heard the sickening ZZT! as it snapped and released. The hostage let out a scream, alerting attention from the floor to gain Batman a distraction. The young acrobat tucked in on herself and gained speed to catch up with the hostage on his descent, wrapping an arm around him as her other hand resheathed the blade and pulled free her grappling hook. It fired off at the high rafters and tugged as she swung the two to safety.
Batgirl: Calendar Girl heard the hostage let out a shriek and her attention, along with her men's snapped up to see the female vigilante snapping him of his confines and taking him to safety. Behind the serene mask, a soft growl was heard and her body posture stiffened with anger as she brought her attention back to Batman before her. The mask was like porcelin, only slightly more reflective, casting Batman's dark features back at him as the woman stared unspeaking at him. Deciding she wasn't going to win a fist fight with the man, she grabbed one of her men by the heavy shoulder and heaved him at the Dark Knight as she dashed toward her intended vitcim of the evening, and Batgirl with him. So the vigilantes had caught up to her planning, but that hadn't meant she'd allow them to thwart her intentions for tonight, she'd planned too much for that, even if she hadn't planned on the vigilantes catching up to her yet. Calendar Girl reached into the black slip of her dress as her silver heels -
Batgirl: clicked on the floor. She pulled free three eggs, Easter - decorated with colorful waves and dots, tossing them at Batgirl. In mid-air they exploded into a flurry of smoke of different colors. Batgirl coughed and ducked low, initializing her gas mask to cover her nose and mouth to allow for safe breathing, she kept a hold of the hostage and threw him behind her, standing and raising her hands to prepare to fight the woman. The smoke thickened and Barbara had to turn on her Detective Vision, enabling her to see through the smoke, but she couldn't find Calendar Girl just yet. -e-
The third thug held a gun to the hostage’s head and growled at Batman. “Don’t move or I kill her!” Batman stopped and stared at the man, giving his peripheral vision an examination of Batgirl’s actions. It was then one man came from behind Batman, smashing a PVC pipe across his shoulders and back. Grunting Batman fell forward onto his hands only to feel the man stomp onto Batman’s spine pushing the Dark Knight to the floor. The thug holding his gun at the hostage grinned and then pointed his gun at Batman’s face. “Hold him down!” Batman gritted his teeth straining against the pressure of the man’s foot. Looking towards the barrel, Batman waited until the moment was right then his left hand tapped his right bracer launching his forearm batarangs; three devices swerved through the air, slashing with a loud hiss. <c>
The batarangs stabbed the man’s face and hand forcing the gun to fire a stray shot before dropping to the ground. Batman rolled towards his assailant causing his foot to lose balance before feeling Batman’s fist smash into the thug’s crotch dropping him to the ground with a wheeze. The image of a black figure charging towards the hostage taker would be all he saw before a fist smashed into his face and throwing him backwards into a pile of boxes. Batman waved to the woman. “Get out of here, let them know it’s unsafe to enter.” Batman turned his attention to Calendar Girl, narrowing his eyes before arming his grappling gun and shooting it towards Batgirl and the hostage. The dark figure swung on an intercept course for Calendar Girl, aiming to kick her with his legs; although he wouldn’t actually ‘kick’ he would aim to knock her over with the momentum of the swing <c>
And stiffening his legs posture. If he knocked her over he would retract the line and position himself between Batgirl and the hostage preventing the villainous from reaching his partner and the hostage. His attention would be focused on Calendar Girl as he spoke in a raspy, judgmental tone. “You’ve got a lot of explaining to do. Unfortunately, I don’t care what you have to say. You’re going to jail.”
Batgirl: The gun went off across the set and Barbara's eyes snapped open in shock, raising her armored gauntlet just in time to deflect the stray away from her with a loud CHING! With her attention strayed for a moment, Batgirl only heard the whoosh of Calendar Girl's foot as it came swinging at her head. Too late to block it properly, she took the hit and rolled with the motion, swiftly reaching up to snatch the woman's ankle in the air. With it grabbed, Batgirl pulled Calendar Girl toward her awaiting kick to the ribs. Hearing a slight crunch, but feeling the woman's thin armor, she was sure if anything, she'd only maybe cracked a rib or two. The villainess let out a yelp and Batgirl kept the momentum, turning and bringing the leg over her shoulder before bending and hurling her to the floor. "Easter?" Barbara asked, "What do you have against just decorating eggs and hiding them like normal people?" Calendar Girl, groaning on the floor, looked up at Batgirl with new found anger and replied,
Batgirl: "Every date has its importance, might as well make use of it." Her hand, half-hidden in her pocket, slipped out a blue Easter egg and hurled it to Barb's right at her hostage recently saved. The egg bounced once and lit up just before it beeped loudly, an explosive about to fire. Batgirl gasped and dove for the hostage, wrapping her protective cape over herself and the man just before the egg blew up with a loud bang! The heat furled around Barbara as she clenched her eyes shut and waited for it to subside. She stood, the smoke and debris cleared and she disarmed her gas mask as she faced Calendar Girl. "You're a bit dramatic, aren't you?" The Batgirl probbed, "And the way you move? Graceful, planned, you know how to shift your weight properly, but it's not in fighting techniques...what were you, Broadway?" The Batgirl had her suspicions, her intuition told her the direction, it was the destination she was unsure of as of yet. But the woman before her she knew had something to do with
Batgirl: the field. It was in the way she presented herself, how she stood, how she waked, even ran, she had a grace about her, the ability to place her body in the position one would see on a magazine cover, that is, if the cover was showing a villainess with a knack for dates. Calendar Girl took a step toward Barbara, saying knowing but reaching for her pocket, the redhead's face reflected in the mask just before Batman's dark figure struck a shadow in it and he landed the blow to the villainess from the side. The kick sent her flying to the side, her attention having been on Batgirl rather than noticing the flying bat. She landed hard with a crash amongst set props and shook her head as she climbed free of them to face the vigilantes. "Oh," the woman spoke, "Everyone cared what I had to say, that doesn't go away so easily. I refuse to let it!" She hurled five eggs at the two which burst into thick, colorful smoke as her visage vanished before them, making her escape.
-Explosions were erupting consecutively and yet sporadic enough that the police would grow rapidly impatient and concerned for what exactly was going on. The Dark Knight stumbled backwards as the eggs exploded, he turned around and wrapped his arms around Batgirl and the hostage and almost forced both of them to duck underneath him. He waited a calculated moment before removing his embrace and turning to pursue Calendar Girl. Her thugs were back on their feet and racing to regroup with her as the quartet reached another studio. Batman’s speed was picking up until he reached a doorway, he slowed and peered around the corner into what looked like a black room. He moved into it and gripped his titanium coated gloves tight in preparation for a defensive maneuver when he felt it…vibrating in the floor. Batman looked down to blind his visual sense and heighten his other senses. <c>
Without a moment hesitation he took a step back and stared into the darkness when he saw the large shadow approaching. A sonic boom erupted with a scream unmistakable for any other creature. Once more without hesitation he turned around and began running back the way he had came. The foot steps were loud as they thrashed against the ground, from the darkness of the studio a large Tyrannosaurus began to stampede towards Batman, Batgirl, and the hostage. Its large maw opened and snapped at Batman’s cape, barely missing it. Its head swung to thrash the Dark Knight, but the Caped Crusader’s balance was disturbed and he tumbled out of the T-Rex’s charge. The large reptile would continue its charge towards Batgirl and the Hostage with its large maw ready to bite.
Batgirl: Batgirl gasped and dissappeared with the hostage beneath Batman's protection, she winced and blinked up at him just before he released them and dashed after Calendar Girl. Barbara leapt to her feet, wishing to pursue but knowing she needed to ensure the hostage's safety first. She hauled him to his feet and dusted off his nice blazer jacket, looking him over lightly. "What's your name, sir?" Batgirl asked as she checked to see the rest of the hostages had made it out safely and the villainess' men were either unconscious or had gone. "Stephen, Stephen Sommers." He coughed and batted the debris dust from him. Her thin, red brows arched under her cowl, "Sommers, as in the Director? Of Face Punch and Love Spelled Backwards is Love?" He nodded, "On in the same, good to know vigilante's make it to the theater, I'll keep that in mind." She smiled warmly, "I'll be looking out for a redhead heroine in the future with your name on it." The floor thundered ominiously, then again, and again.
Batgirl: "What on Earth-" The sound of Batman's heavy footfalls closed in behind her as Batgirl turned to find the Dark Knight sprinting without slowing a single step. Her green eyes widened, "Batman?" Barbara's voice, high in pitch and soft, was a complete contrast to the Dark Knight's growl of a response. "RUN." She sucked in a breath as she turned without an argument and grabbed up Sommers' sleeve and tugged him along. If Batman was running, she knew better than to argue or question, however, her curiosity grew too far. "What are we running..." she glanced behind, her red locks flying against her pale cheeks as she breathed heavily and sprinted to keep up with Batman just as the massive reptile entered view chasing after them. "OH MY GOD!" she screamed and picked up the pace, half-dragging the director with her. "Last I checked, this is n't the set of the new Jurassic Park...what the hell is that!?" Besides, if it was the set for the new JP, Chris Pratt should have been there and her heart would have sunk. -e-
The T-Rex’s jaws opened preparing to gobble up Director Sommers, its lower lip would tap Batgirl and Sommers legs most likely tripping them to fall backwards into the T-Rex’s mouth. If Batgirl fell backwards along with the director the T-Rex would halt its charge and stand up lifting its head into the air, parting its mouth to roar while also sliding the two deeper into its mouth. The feeling of air was artificial; pistons hissing of air and gears cranking within the machine could be heard to Batgirl. The T-Rex’s mouth was large enough barely to hold the two of them, mostly thanks to Barbara’s smaller size compared to the man. Its mouth would attempt to crush them allowing the two to feel and see the coated teeth made of thick rubber snap; if they were kicked she would feel its solid material bounce her boots back off of its material. <c>
Below on the ground, the Dark Knight tumbled and began to study the T-Rex but, after a moment the T-Rex turned and began leaving the studio. Stomping through the building it began running onto the street where its heavy footsteps stomped onto a police car as it ran down the street. A police officer grabbed his radio and shouted “Police Dispatch! We got a renegade…dinosaur, uh…It’s a T-Rex. How should we proceed?” The batpod roared to life and the small vehicle squealed as it flew out of the alleyway just as Batman leapt into the air to mount it. Gripping the handles of the bipod the tires rode after the T-Rex. “Uhh…Dispatch, The Batman is in pursuit of the Dinosaur…should we go after him?”
Batgirl: Batgirl felt the lower lip of the massive reptile sweep her running feet out from under and and back she fell, landing on the artificial tongue of the beast. Barbara's scream was shrill in her terror along side the director's holler for help. She gripped at anything she could, bracing her boots on the rubbery back molars of the T-Res, Stephen Sommers' gripping her around the waist in panic, like a drowning man to a life guard. Her green eyes were wide and full of shock, half-paralyzed with fear. She was in the mouth of a massive T-Rex stomping down the city streets of Gotham. All she wanted to do was scream and see Batman's calm face helping her out and to safety, but the roar of the batpod told her he was trying to chase the dinosaur still. She'd just become a hostage! Batgirl narrowed her eyes with determination and pulled free the collapsed bo staff clipped to her belt and reached to place it neat the front of the beast's mouth. Expanding the bo staff, it extended long and propped
Batgirl: the T-Rex's mouth open to keep it from trying to chew them and close. Gripping the tongue of the beast, however artificial it was, she tried to calm herself and think. Looking around, she could tell it was mechanical and completely fake, which brought some sort of relief, however, she was still in the mouth of a giant beast. Quickly, she linked to Batman, "You and I are going to have to have a movie night, don't you know you're not supposed to run from the T-Rex!? Dr Grant explained that very well!" She took a few steadying breaths and tried to think, calming her voice to him. "It's mechanical, I can hear the pistons firing, I'll work on shutting it down from the inside." She glanced around the mouth again and shook her head, talking to herself now, "Dinosaurs have nothing to do with Easter, the bitch went off schedule." Grumbling she felt the director's hands on her waist tighten as he yelled again. She rolled her eyes and fought the urge to smack him, his grip was starting to hurt.
Batgirl: "Mr Sommers, I need you to hang on tight and stay as calm as you can, this is a mechanical beast, it isn't real, I'm going to get us out of here soon, okay?" She propped one foot across the mouth to the other tooth and pulled out her tech pad as she reached toward the cheek of the beast and tore at the covers. She dug til she found wiring and worried that yanking them free might cause the mechanical beast to chomp down and break her staff keeping them safe or cause other damage around them. Instead, she linked her own external cord to the wires to tap into the system and began to work at finding a way to control it. -e-
-Batman would narrow his eyes at the T-Rex, police sirens would begin screaming as they followed in pursuit of Batman and the T-Rex, the Dark Knight armed the vehicles grappling hooks and then responded to Barbara. “The robot is moving at thirty five miles per hour. I can stop it with a small EMP, but I need you to secure the hostage in place and be ready to jump.” The first part would make sense to Batgirl, the second might’ve confused or worried her until the sound of police sirens came to her ears. Vehicles were screaming, car horns honking as people on the streets began to freak out at the sight of the T-Rex. The Batpod pulled alongside the T-Rex and prepared to fire the EMP on Batgirl’s signal. Tapping into the T-Rex’s feed Batgirl would be able to override any internal commands and take control, however; she would have to block out any external signals transmitting to the computer. <c>
But it was midst all the commotion a relevation would come to Barb as the Director replied to her earlier statement. “I know it’s not real! It’s from a failed movie production a few years ago…I was the director.” Batgirl’s memory of Calendar Girl’s posture, positioning, the acrobatic ability, the flaunting of her ‘assets’ indicated stage experience, performance in front of a camera.
Batgirl: Did....did he say prepare to jump? What the hell was he thinking? She tried not to focus on it, and didn't have the time when the director responded. She blinked and focused, her mind rifling through the notes in her mind, her joke about Broadway, the way Calendar Girl carried herself, her fluid and grace, how she posed when she stood, like a magazine, like a movie star. "Mr. Sommers', thank you for that." she linked herself to Batman, "She's an actress. Calendar Girl is an actress with a past, this is a massive prop to a movie I'm betting she was supposed to have a part in." Quickly, she sent the command for the beast to raise it's head, open maw facing the sky just before she gripped the director and bo staff. "Now!" Wrapping an arm around Stephens' shoulders and under one arm, she waited for the EMP explosion. When it would occur, she had aimed for them to be propelled from the dinosaur's mouth and up and out into the sky where she was prepared to extend her grappling hook onto the
Batgirl: nearest light pole and leave them danging safely so she could lower the man down to the ground. -e-
Batman detonated the EMP causing the T-Rex’s legs to slow down before finally stopping. As Batgirl swung to a nearby light pole, the Dark Knight grew consciously wary of the approaching police force. Batman was intent enough to leave the director inside the T-Rex but, Batgirl’s solution did the police work for them. He stopped his bipod next to the light post and growl. “Lets go! The police can take over from here.” He growled with a raspy voice looking over his shoulder at the red and blue lights. “Batman, step off the vehicle, NOW! Do not attempt to flee!” Batman waited for Batgirl to get onto his vehicle before taking off. “Batgirl!” He growled as she seemed to have been taking her time talking to the director.
Batgirl: The hook looped around the pole and Batgirl and the director swung to a slow halt before she lowered him to the ground and dropped herself down on the awaiting batpod. "If you get to that redheaded heroine," she hollered over the growl of the batpod, "I like Emma Stone!" With Batman's growling voice urging her to hurry it up, she unlatched the hook from her belt and reholstered the gun to her hip, freeing them of the pole as the red and blue lights flashed. The GCPD screeched to loud halts, the smell of burning rubber just behind as the hood of their cars nearly bumped the batpod and the driver door opened as the police officers aimed their weapons. "Freeze!" Batgirl made a face and grabbed onto Batman's sides tightly, knowing he was going ot kick it off at high speeds to get away. "Maybe in the sequal, guys!" She tried not to giggle, but the movie references were so her forte and the thrill that she'd figured out who Calendar Girl was had her elated. -e-
The Batpod took off and as expected the police took to pursuing them. Batman would speak through the headset due to the loud noise of their surroundings. “What did you find out from the director? He’s the only victim that survived. She’ll plan to kill him again.” -Nothing he said was news as Calendar Girl’s failure was clearly defined. “She had hired help, but we’ll be able to narrow down her targets and motive once we get back to the Batcave.” The batpod swerved and rolled. “Hold on.” He stated flatly as the Batpod twisted and rolled sideways down the street. It faced an alley that immediately the vehicle slipped between melting into the shadows like a hand coated in a leather glove. Minutes later they would arrive in the Batcave by a large multi-screen computer. Batman waited for her to get off the vehicle before getting off of it himself.
Batgirl: Batgirl loped a leg over the back of the pod and raced for the computer, her steps eager as the expression on her face. She immediately began typing away, having the coputer search for everything on the true identity of the Calendar Girl, of her past, her present and perhaps anything planned for her future hat might be known. She brought up the oinformation and grinned, biting her lip at Batman, "She's an actress, worked with e director on a movie that didn't pan out. She'll try for him again I'm sure, but how she'll do it will be as theatrical as before. She seems to really like that spotlight." She eys the screen, the techno queen young and eager, but damn good at what she'd been taught by her mentor.Despite hi wishing she weren't so damn happy about it.
As she raced for the computer, Batman followed behind her at a walking pace allowing her experience and knowledge of manipulating technology to work for their effort. As her search revealed a list of references.
The computer would speak in a monotone voice.
"Page, Monroe, 29, Born on August 21st, 1981. Correlations: August 21st is international Fashion Day.
Cinematography:
(2001) Baby Loves Me.
(2002) She's Beautiful
(2002) Sex & Femme Fatales.
(2002) Valentine Destiny.
(2005)(cancelled) Mean Seasons staring Thomas Eisenboro and Page Monroe, Directed by Stephen Sommers, produced by Cameron Kilmer, casting by Jessica Whilma.
Thomas Eisenboro was victim #1.
Cameron Kilmer was victim #2.
Stephen Sommers is currently victim #3,
Jessica Whilma is likely victim #4.
Batman observed the information and stated. "She has two victims still alive...Her films have a large gap between them..."Have the computer run a search looking for clues in each film; see if you can find anything different between them."
The computer would speak. "Mean Seasons summary: A man and his group of buddies are haunted by their past and look to improve their lives. When an spectre of vengeance comes to reign hell upon them in the body of a sexy woman, now they must survive or be killed through irony."
Batgirl have a shrug and crossed her arms, "I suppose it isn't hard to guess how she's viewing herself lately. Mean Seasons might have been cancelled but it looks like she's carrying it out in real life and on everyone involved." Barbara rolled the chair forward, eyes focused as she brought up several sites pertaining to celebrity gossip and entertainment. Everything from who was divorcing who to what outfits were in. She skimmed the pages and dated them back to around the time that Monroe Page was all the rage and then not. As she searched, she glanced at Batman. "Obviously she's going to want to finish her work, but I bet she'll hit after Jessica before going back for Stephen. The question is how." Barbara began bringing up information on Jessica Whilman and her whereabouts, anything she could find from personal lifeto professional to get an edge on how the Calendar Girl might attack next. She also would check the GCPD for the update on Stephen Sommers and his whereabouts.
The sites would begin showing glamorous facts of Page's beauty, calling her as beautiful and full of life as Madonna or Nicole Kidman in their prime. Other sites would begin rumoring that she was cursed off the set by the Casting Director, another source cited that her producer; Cameron Kilmer was trying to help Page go through therapy. Another source: Thomas Eisenboro and Page Monroe were caught walking out of the same hotel together.
A frontline would say "Break up of the century!" featuring a split between Page and Thomas Eisenboro, stating that Eisenboro has been her biggest fan since the start of her career, and now he has turned against her."
Her producer Kilmer was caught retaliating against Jessica Whilma for 'fat comments'
Jessica Whilma apologizes to Page for saying "She looks like a cougar preying on Thomas Einsenboro and other younger male actors."
Another rumor would indicate that the movie 'Mean Seasons' was cancelled due to the film running out of money thanks to Page's 'childish' conduct on set.
Page blamed the cameras for making her look like a computer animation than a person.
Batgirl nods, "Go figure, she's got more gossip than Doherty when she was with Charmed." She pans through the information and brings up several photos produced by the paparazzi. She then goes to find out what therapy that Kilmer was supposedly trying to get her into, if she had a doctor, and then what those doctor's files said about her. "Seems like she's messed up in the head some, and she can't rightly get through her bullshit because she can't view it right." Her blue eyes silde up to look at Batman, the tall and brooding man at her side. "Reminds me of your favorite case. A young woman with troubles that if only she could see the good and understand, she'd come around and step away from the wrong path." Batgirl checked on the whereabouts of Jessica once more to see if the computer had found anything. "Should we both hit Jessica and be prepared to let Page strike? Or split and keep an eye on both Jessica and Kilmer?" -e-
Story By: Batman and Barb
