Background story
Tim Drake was born to Jack and Janet Drake, a perfect family or so it would seem to him throughout his childhood. He saw the Flying Graysons the day of their last performance. Shortly following the tragedy at the Hayley's circus after a year, Batman had gained a new partner known as Robin. Tim immediately felt attracted to Robin's role as a child working with Gotham's very own legend. Tim Drake was dismissive of the police warrants and public outcry over Batman's villainy within the city.
When Tim was in high school, he closely followed along Batman and Robin on their adventures until he saw it, the clue that helped him puzzle it together. Upon watching Robin perform an acrobatic maneuver that Dick Grayson performed in the Hayley's circus, Tim puzzled together who Robin was. With quick research Tim discovered that Bruce Wayne was Dick Grayson's ward. The connection immediately tied Bruce Wayne to Batman and Dick Grayson to Robin.
Tim would remain silent admiring Dick Grayson and Bruce Wayne from afar until his mother fell ill and his father took out a loan from Harvey Two-Face to pay for her medical expenses. However, Two-Face began pressuring Jack Drake to pay him back in more than just cash. Two-Face wanted to manipulate Jack's position as a worker in a medical clinic. Tim's mother would eventually die leaving only Tim and his father. Jack wanted to back out of his deal with Two-Face, but Two-Face forced him to remain.
Timothy sought out the help of Bruce Wayne to help his father, but when Batman and Tim Drake arrived at the Drake's residence, Two-Face had kidnapped Jack Drake. With Tim's detective skills he was able to locate traces of sand, salt, and a chemical waste product from a factory by Gotham's North docks. Batman leaves Tim Drake at his home for the police to take care of him, But Tim followed Batman. The two would confront Two-Face and rescue Jack Drake.
While Jack Drake spent time in the hospital recovering, Tim used Bruce Wayne as his cover up as a temporary caretaker and boss for a new job. Tim then offered to be Batman's 2nd Robin after realizing that Dick Grayson went on to be Nightwing and Batman was alone again. Batman reluctantly accepted Tim due to his detective nature and eagerness to help.
Description

His helmet is a black cowl made of titanium and allows for various types of vision and lens to close around his eyes. His chest has two crossing bandoliers that house gadgets along with his black utility belt.
Personality: Tim Drake often displays himself as a happy child, playful, and very fun loving. He appeals to be the type of kid who has had everything and doesn't let life bring him down. He's incredibly smart and knows that he's probably the smartest person in the room when he's around peers or even adults. He is big into comic books and computer video games. He is an decent hacker with medium knowledge of computers and systems. He is very well educated in science and biology.
Red Robin is Tim Drake's alter ego, while in the costume he tries to mask the internal suffering he feels. The pain for losing his mother and later, his father. The mask helps channel his emotional frustration into something productive. Tim Drake houses a lot of anger and frustration with his life and the people in it, it is perhaps Red Robin's strongest ability that he keeps under control by wishing to honor Batman's mission. When Red Robin holds nothing back, he is fully capable of killing his opponent or beating them into submission, such as Red Robin has done to Damian Wayne.
His loyalty to Batman is based upon knowing Batman's intelligence, capabilities and his mission, Red Robin follows strictly to this mission and has no problem reminding others on the team what the mission is about. He is often characterized as blindly following Batman, this is strictly in the presence of others. Only members of the bat-family have witnessed Red Robin's disagreement with Batman's methods from time to time.

Sample RP
"I'm tired of pretending that I don't love you anymore."
{R} ‘I still feel the pain..Every Sunday, in fact. I’m no where near Batman’s ability to remember and track dates…but that day. I won’t ever forget.’ –Tim was holding his knees to his chest, his face red, water running down them.- “I miss you…” –He admitted, he struggled with his feelings. Thoughts of Tim standing before the casket, friends and family standing around her coffin as it was lowered into the ground. Tim stood before everyone, wearing a black suit holding a red rose. Everyone was leaving it was just Tim and Bruce standing behind him. Water poured down causing Tim to be saturated in water. He dropped to his knees, black dress pants stained with mud.- “Steph…I love you. I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you.”
–His hands clutched and suddenly he was back in his bedroom, curled up on the floor. He could hear Bruce and Alfred talking about him....Bruce: “He needs time to heal, Alfred…” Alfred: “I know he does. But he needs a father, the closest thing he has to one…” Bruce: “I’m not-…” Alfred: “No. You’re not. But Batman is…Like it or not. The last person in this world who means *anything* to that boy, is the most feared man in Gotham…” –Tim didn’t want Bruce and Alfred to argue about him; he wanted to be left alone and given time to think.
His world had been shattered and the feeling of pain of this degree hasn’t been felt since his mother died. He was taken in as Bruce’s own son as his own father was now incapable of caring for his son. Tim’s father knew about everything. Red Robin and Batman, it was some closure that Tim didn’t have to lie to his real dad. Tim wiped his eyes and stood up to walk towards the door.- ‘I need to clear my head…I’ll go on patrol and get some things straightened out.’{R}
